VERY interesting news coming from the MTV camp – they’ve chosen British comedian/quasi-freak of nature Russell Brand to host the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.If you saw him in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” you know Russell Brand is kind of funny as a wacked out brit music superstar. When I think about it he was kind of one of the best things about the movie actually.
You don't realize though that his freakdom isn’t confined to the silver screen until you see him on a talk show. He isn't just in character; he is really wacked out ALL THE TIME. Look at the hair people and tell me there isn't something wrong here.
The VMAs will be broadcast live on Sunday September 7 at 9pm ET.
Hear me now MTV – this could either work really well or it will blow up in your face. Big time. And you know we will talk about you like a dog.
